Morning view
"Morning View" is a sweet and romantic reflection on the quiet magic of waking up beside someone you love. It’s about how even quiet mornings can feel extraordinary—like you’re the only two people in the universe. The song captures the tenderness of those moments, blending disbelief and gratitude for something so precious.
As the track builds, a quartet of voices introduces the initial background harmonies, eventually joined by many of my other collaborators. This layering illustrates the growing sense of wonder at the heart of the song. Having so many friends from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC—the organization that helped me find my way back to songwriting—contribute their voices made this track even more meaningful.
I’m proud of all of the hard work that went into this record. And something about “Morning View” feels like it truly illustrates the magic not just of a singular love, but the love I’ve felt throughout this whole experience.

Morning View
I lay my head on your chest
Smell yesterday’s cologne
It might sound hyperbolic
But your arms are the closest thing
I’ve ever felt to home
I listen to the sound of your breathing
Rhythmic like the rising of the tide
It’s a miracle we found this
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning view
I’m giving up on taking this thing slow
You don’t ever need to go back home
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning view
Your fingers trace down my back
Like writing letters in the dark
It might sound hyperbolic but your heartbeat
Makes other sounds feel obsolete
And I’m certain that
I’ve never felt this certain
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning view
I’m giving up on taking this thing slow
You don’t ever need to go back home
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning
Your eyes, your eyes, your eyes
I get so lost inside your eyes
It’s like I’m falling up weightless in the sky
And I’ve never felt like this
I’ve never had this fairy feeling
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning view
Morning view, morning view
I’d give everything for you to be my morning view
I’m giving up on taking this thing slow
I’ve been waiting my whole life hoping to feel this known
Morning view, morning view
I just wanna be your morning view
I’d give everything for you to always be my morning view
