Catch Me If You Can

“Catch Me If You Can” explores the quiet magic of finding comfort and connection in unexpected places. It’s about those rare moments when words aren’t needed to feel understood—when a shared smile or laugh creates its own little world. At its heart, the song celebrates the beauty of feeling deeply known by another person, and the grounding joy that comes with that knowing.

In the chaos of a bustling city, this song reflects how meaningful time together is less about where you are and more about how you are. It’s about the unique space you create with someone that makes even the simplest moments feel extraordinary.

Emily and I returned to our old collaborative process for this track, sending versions back and forth as we balanced the different layers. While much of Lemonboy blends folk and pop with a touch of musical theatre, “Catch Me If You Can” leans fully into the spirit of my inner theatre kid. It’s a playful, heartfelt ode to the wonder of rare connections, reflecting on the fleeting nature of time while honoring the spectacular joy of sharing it with someone special.

Catch Me If You Can

This is a red line train to Shady Grove

The next stop is Gallery Place Chinatown

Wait, wait, wait, wait

Just a little more time

Okay, one quick drink

Then I really mean it

Gotta call it a night

Otherwise, I’ll lose track of time

In your eyes

Wait, wait, wait, wait

Just another quick kiss

How is it midnight?

Got a meeting in the morning

Gonna have to miss

No question if it’s worth the chance

to prove that you exist

It’s just you and I at Gallery Place

A downtown bubble that feels worlds away

When you smile, I can’t resist

There’s this staggering static

Stirring something and I’m falling fast

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can

Okay, hey

Text when you get home

Though you never wait that long

Every time your name lights up, I glow

‘Cause I can tell your heart is in this too

And that’s all I need to know

Then it’s just you and I at Gallery Place

A downtown bubble that feels worlds away

When you smile, I can’t resist

There’s this staggering static

Stirring something and I’m falling fast

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can

This was never part of the plan

Something fun turned out to be

Something sacred in our hands

I followed all the rules so I don’t understand

We’re meant to teeter, not to fall

That’s what we said when this began

If I’ve lost my mind, that’s fine

Don’t think I care to find it

When he smiles, I can’t resist

When he laughs, it heals my spirit

When you cry, it shifts the sky

A force of nature in your eyes

When you hope, I catch your dreams

When you look at me

You see me

And it’s just you and I at Gallery Place

A downtown bubble that feels worlds away

When you smile, I can’t resist

There’s this staggering static

Stirring something and I’m falling fast

It’s just you and I at Gallery Place

A downtown bubble that feels worlds away

Every moment feels enough this way

There’s this staggering static

Stirring something and I’m falling fast

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can

Catch me if you can

Oh, catch me if you can
